My Review:
This is book 2 in the series and MC Melinda returns to England to try and find out what happened to her sister Lucy, who we know from book 1 is now living happily in the past. Somehow Melinda manages to get herself lost and take shelter in a castle from a storm which leads to her falling back in time the the 14th Century
This book was a bit of a mixed bag. In places it was convoluted and a bit of a hot mess but also fun and sweet in a really cheesy way. In the beginning there seemed to be a few inconsistencies in terms of the time line and you could really see the author moving the chess pieces to line everything up for the rest of the story to work ( and it seemed a little over the top at times) and at times the writing was a little choppy which pulled me out of the story a little but once I was able to suspend my disbelief and get past the beginning, I actually quite enjoyed the read.
I liked the romance between Melinda and James even if it did seem to come a little easily at first and despite the heavy handedness of the author at times, this book had a sweet and romantic feel that left me with a smile at the end.
I give this book 3 1/2 stars.
